Indeed, you are probably interested in the postal documents issued during the polar expeditions which marked out the history of the exploration and the conquest of the poles from 1890 till 1950.
But you also look for philatelic documents issued during the activities of scientific research which take place in the polar regions. That it is about picture postcards or about covers of the expeditions with the commemorative cachets of the mission, sometimes even with the signature of its members, these mail carried in severe conditions, cancelled in postal agencies located at the ends of the planet or aboard ships clearing themselves a road in stormy and ice-cold seas, are real documents full of history.

Why not to join us within the UFPP-SATA?
UFPP-SATA is the most important society of polar philately in France. It has existed for 30 years. More than 500 members (national and overseas) are collector of polar material; within UFPP-SATA, they can correspond, exchange, acquire items and obtain information. UFPP-SATA is affiliated to the Fédération Française des Associations Philatéliques (FFAP) and to the Groupement des Associations Philatéliques Spécialisées (GAPS); so members are qualified to participate in regional, national and international exhibitions.

A quarterly journal Terres Polaires, where you will find all the general and philatelic information on poles, polar ships, expeditions, issues of stamps as well as articles on polar postal history and interviews with personalities of the polar or philatelic world,
A service Fast Information intended to warn members of the calendars of ships, polar events and any information that must be quickly echoed,
A service of free advertisements published in Terres Polaires, and dedicated to polar philately,
A service Circulating Packet is available to promote the exchanges among our members by allowing the salesman to propose his duplicates and the buyer to find the missing document,
A service Subscription offering commemorative polar covers produced by our society,
Meetings in regions, organized by the regional delegates, where are exchanged information and documents in a friendly atmosphere,
Annual General Meetings organized together with the regional groups allow each to express themselves and to participate actively in the life of the society. During these Annual General Meetings, exhibitions are regularly organized to make known our passion with the general public,
